Bill Baillie

| Position | 2nd Euphonium |
| Nickname | None that I know of |
| Age | Getting on a bit now (over 50) |
| When/How I started banding | Started in 1961 with Dalkeith Burgh Band (Scotland). Had planned to join the local Pipe Band, but they had no instruments and it would have been a 6 month wait, so I walked across the road and joined the Brass Band instead. Not sure even now if that was a good move or not ! |
| Best-ever banding moment | Playing in the National finals with Newtongrange Silver band in the late 1960's. |
| Worst-ever/most embarrassing banding moment | Started to play a solo with Stantonbury Brass only to discover that my tuning slide had got shoved in somehow and I was out of tune by at least a semi-tone. Worse still, I didn't have a bars rest for ages so was unable to correct it until about a third of the way through. |
| When I joined Downton Band | 2005 |
| Favourite band piece | Too many to list, but it would include Shepherds Song |
| Least favourite band piece | None really, other than any test piece !!! |
| Anything else... | I'm the quiet, shy, teetotal member of Downton Band |
