| When/How I started banding | Downton needed a percussionist for the area contest in Torquay so my husband volunteered me. This was my first ever performance as a percussionist with a brass band. I am a singer by trade. (Due to my success Bournemouth Concert Brass have asked me to perform with them on occasions) |
| Best-ever banding moment | Coming second to qualify for the National Finals of course! |
| Worst-ever/most embarrassing banding moment | I will just mention wind chimes and Torquay!! Say no more! |
| When I joined Downton Band | March 2003 |
| Favourite band piece |
Shine as the Light (Peter Graham) (I really love Alderley Edge but it's Roland's favourite) |
| Least favourite band piece | Las Luvias Grandes (Peter Graham) |
| Anything else... | Although I'm a singer my father was a percussionist. A member of the National Youth Orchestra at 13, the RAF Central band and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. I am sure he's looking down from Heaven when I have sticks in my hand and saying "Go on Jane". Thanks Dad for your inspiration. |
