| When/How I started banding | On trombone, aged nearly 40, as an honorary youth with Farmborough Youth Band, near Bath. Subsequently with Shaftesbury Crusade, Bristol, Norton Radstock Silver, Southampton Albion, Michelmersh Silver and Downton. |
| Best-ever banding moment | Visiting Kerkrade Music Festival in Holland 30 odd years ago. |
| Worst-ever/most embarrassing banding moment | Playing Eb Bass with Norton Radstock in ornamental gardens, my chair perilously close to the edge of the grass. Chair tipped over backwards taking bass and self into the bushes. Shrubs closed behind me - unable to get up - absence not noticed for 10 minutes. |
| When I joined Downton Band | 2000 |
| Favourite band piece | Procession to the Minster (Wagner: Lohengrin arr Howard Snell) |
| Least favourite band piece | Young Amadeus (this is no way to treat Mozart) |
