| When/How I started banding | Downton Band nearly collapsed in 1959. I was in the Downton Church choir and was asked by the then conductor Tom Burton to come and learn an instrument which I did. Played for Downton for 28 years then left to join Hyde Band with which I played for 12 years. Then came back to help re-form Dowton Band. |
| Best-ever banding moment | Playing with Hyde Band in the BBC production Miss Marple "The mirror cracked from side to side" |
| Worst-ever/most embarrassing banding moment | Forgot my music for the test piece for the Bristol contest. |
| When I joined Downton Band | First joined in 1959. |
| Favourite band piece | Triumph Rhapsody, Variations on a Ninth |
| Least favourite band piece | Hootenanny |
| Anything else... | I have now been involved with the British Brass Band movement for 44 years during which I have visited most of Europe playing with different bands. |
